Mike is currently Co-Director of Bands at Riverdale High School in Murfreesboro, TN. Previously, he served as Director of Bands at Mount Pleasant High School in Mount Pleasant, TN. Mike graduated Cum Laude from Middle Tennessee State University in 1998. In addition to his teaching responsibilities, Mike is currently pursuing a Masters Degree in Music Education.

Mike has taught music for grades 5 – 12. Prior to joining the Riverdale faculty, he served on a committee to tour various Florida fine arts magnet schools in preparation for the design of Maury County’s first school dedicated to the performing arts. He has served previously as a TMEA Conference Equipment Chairperson. His professional memberships include MENC, TMEA, Tennessee Bandmasters, ETSBOA, and MTSBOA where he has served on the executive committee. Mike is active as a clinician and adjudicator throughout the Southeast and has been recognized in the 2002 edition of Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers. Mike continues to perform on saxophone with several area groups, including the Tennessee Valley Winds Community Band.
