Jim Williamson’s education experience includes a Bachelor of Music and Master of Music from the University of Tennessee. Additionally, he has completed independent trumpet studies with Frank Brown at the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music, Carmine Caruso,Don Jacoby,Vincent Pizzarella, and John McNeil. His work experience includes work with the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra, Nashville Symphony, Nashville Chamber Orchestra, Brass Winds (U.T. Faculty Brass Quintet), Ice Follies, Holiday on Ice, Walt Disney World, Circus World, Boots Randolph, Opryland USA, and Opryland Productions. Additionally, Jims has done freelance recordings for television shows, jingles, albums and demonstration tapes and records for WDCN (Channel 2), Sound Emporium, Youngin Sound Inc., Javelina, Quad, Starstruck, Ocean Way, Hummingbird, The Sound Shop, Muscle Shoals Sound and many other studios. Other recording and television credits include The Mavericks, Reba McEntire, Taco Bell, Lee Greenwood, Louise Mandrell,Delbert McClinton, CNN and B.B.King. Jim has toured with Reba McEntire, The Four Seasons, Dinah Shore, Andy Williams, Marilyn McCou, Brenda Lee, Buddy Morrow, Warren Covington, Lee Castle (Jimmy Dorsey), Larry Elgart, Charlie Spevak, The Four Tops, The Temptations, The Mavericks and The OJays. Honors included a Graduate Assistantship at the University of Tennessee from 1975-7, University Band and Orchestra Scholarships from 1966-1968, and Tennessee All-State Band. Professional Memberships include the American Federation of Musicians, Phi Mu Alpha Music Fraternity, International Trumpet Guild, Middle Tennessee Band and Orchestra Association, and the Music Educators National Conference. |
