| Brenda Monson is in her fourth year as Co-Director of Instrumental Music at Blackman High School in Murfreesboro, Tennessee where her groups perform regulary for school, community, and other events. Most recently, the Blaze Jazz One performed at the Tennessee State Music Educators Convention in Nashville, Tennessee. The Blackman Band program consists of three concert bands, two jazz ensembles, numerous chamber groups, and an entertaining football band. Ms. Monson did her undergraduate work at Wayne State College and completed her Master’s in Music Education at The Florida State University in 1999. Monson’s previous teaching experience includes instrumental music (grade 5-12) and general/vocal music (grades 6-8) in Nebraska. Ms. Monson is also a very active pianist and performs regulary with various Blackman Vocal groups and the Blackman Drama Department. |
